Moony and Hobbes are the nicknames used by married couple Mary and Katie for each other.

Mary is a public librarian with an art background, whose passion for jewelry design has turned her ears into conversation pieces. Finally, she took the leap to begin an online shop – recruiting her willing (and hardworking!) wife Katie to help.

We are a company because so many people have believed in us. Our jewelry has and continues to be a community effort. Moony and Hobbes is a passion project, and as such we do our best to focus our effort on minimizing any harm associated with what brings us joy.

All acrylic and wood components of our jewelry are manufactured in house – as in, literally in our house. Mary authors original files to produce each design. What we can’t make ourselves, we purchase through small independent sellers online. Each jewelry piece is hand assembled by one of us before being shipped to you!
